New Steelcraft H-Series
Doors Are Hurricane-Resistant
CINCINNATI--June 24, 2002
Steelcraft's new H-Series Hurricane Resistant
Flush Doors provide the ultimate protection against
hurricanes and the extreme wind loads and large
flying objects they generate. The doors conform
to all industry standards and have been independently
tested in accordance with the latest Florida Building
Code and Miami-Dade County Test Protocols TAS/PA
201, 202 and 203.
Among their standard features, H-Series doors
include a full-height lock-side reinforcement
channel, which ensures their structural stability
and the functionality of their locking hardware
under extreme pressure. They also incorporate
full height, epoxy filled mechanical interlock
edges that provide structural support and stability
over the complete height of the door edges. Top
and bottom channels are 14 gage, to provide stability
and protect the top and bottom edges from abuse.
Other features include patented universal hinge
preparations that allow field conversion from
standard to heavy weight hinges, and beveled hinge
and lock edges that allow tighter installation
tolerances, ensure easier operation, and eliminate
binding or sticking.
Series H doors are available up to maximum opening
sizes of 4'0" x 8'0" single or 8'0"
x 8'0" double. To meet application, specification
and performance requirements, they are offered
with a wide range of specifiable options, including
sizes, core types, glass lite designs, hardware
preparations, and edge constructions. Depending
on hardware and core options, they are UL fire-rated
at up to 3 hours.
Recessed Dezigner glass trim provides a
clean, neat and flush finish with the door surface.
The doors are supplied with factory-applied baked-on
rust-inhibiting primer in accordance with ANSI
A250.10.
